Independent Order of Oddfellows, A.C.
The Star of Gisborne Lodge, No. 61, of the above order, held its first half-yearly meeting last evening in tho Lodge room, Childers road. The attendance was large. The N.G., Bro. J. being at Wellington in connection with the reception of T.R.H. the Duke and Duchess of York, his place was ably filled by Bro. A. G. Wheeler, Past Grand. Seven candidates [were initiated with the usual impressive ceremonies, and several elected and proposed. The election of officers resulted as follows: —N.G., Bro. J. H. Colebourne, ro-elected ; ViceGrand, Bro. Aud. Damage; Treasurer, Bro. J. Peckover ; - Secretary, Bro. Robert Robb, re-elected. The Secretary gavo a very interesting account of his recent trip to Australia and the hearty reception accorded to him by the brethren in the New South Wales districts. The installa-
tion of officers takes place next lodge night, whoa some refreshments will be provided at the interval.
