Three thousand people were admitted by ticket to a pro-Boer meeting at Queon’s Hall. . , , Eight hundred foreigners, market porters at Battersea gasworks, were engaged to keep out opponents. A largo forco of police assisted to prevent efforts to rush the hall. Mr Labouchero, who presided over the gathering, referred to Sir A. Milner as a wretched penny-a-liner. British soldiers, ho said, wore lions led by goose. Mr Morriman was absent from the mooting, being indisposed. Messrs Sauer, Llloyd George, Clifford, Dillon, and Koir Hardic denounced the war.
Cheers woro given on tho mention of tho namos of Kruger and DeWet. There was hissing for Chamberlain. Thoso who showed dissent were instantly cjectod. Thoro was an enormous crowd outside, estimated at ton thousand. Tho crowd vainly triod to gain admission.
Thoy sang patriotic songs until the rain which set in caused them to disperse. Somo collisions with pro-Boers occurred, tho latter being bustled and honnoted.
