By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. At the annual meeting of the Devonport Ferry Company the balance-sheet showed the profits to be .£5748. A divi-
dend at the rate of 10 per cent was authorised, £SOO was placed to the credit of the insurance account, and £2743 was carried forward.
Hokitika, last night. The Jane Douglas, which left for Jackson’s Bay nearly three weeks ago with Bishop Grimes and some priests, and of whose whereabouts there was some anxiety owing to the severe weather on the coast, is reported on her way to Hokitika, all safe. She was several days weather bound at Okura.
Wellington, last night.
In the Divorce Court a decree nisi was granted in the case Kate Border v. Henry Border.
Christchurch, last night. Mr Lewis, M.H.11., in a long letter to the papers, explains that the reason for liis resignation is ill-health, brought on by the long hours of the session and lack of interest on the part of his supporters.
