DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. An inquest was held at the Hospital on the body of a sailor named Henry White, who belonged to H.M.S. P.yladcs, and who died while under the influence of chloroform, previous to an operation being performed. In view of the testimony of Dr Lowe, who made a post mortem, that the state of the brain showed conclusively that death was not due to the effects of chloroform, the jury decided that it was not necessary to call any more witnesses, and the jury found a verdict in accordance with the medical evidence, adding that no blame was attachable to anybody.
