FEDERAL PARLIAMENT.

By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright

Melbourne, June 13.

During the debate in supply, some Government appointments of Federal officials were strongly condemned. In the House of Representatives, the supply passed all its stages without further amendments.

A Post and Telegraph Bill was introduced. During the debate the speeches chiefly dealt with the question of sweeps, against which the Bill proposes to close the post office. At a meeting of the Commonwealth labor party, •Mr Watson, New South Wales, was elected Leader in the House, and Mr McGregor, South Australia, in the Senate.
