Sir John Blundell-Maplo complains of
the worthless quality of the Hungarian liorsos purchased by tho War Offico for uso in South Africa, and alloges corruption iu connection with the transaction. Each Boor prisonor takon after tho Jamestown affair had threo rifles, plainly showing that Kruitzingor was intont upon

Trooper J. O. Rogers writes to a friend in Gisborno as follows :—“ Just a brief noto to let you know that ono of our boys has distinguished himself, and has gained, tho Distinguished Sorvico Medal. Trooper James Langhau is tho fortunafco individual. It is tho only D.S.M. that goc3 to New Zealand, so far as I know, and I daresay Gisborno will bo very proud of him. Probably wo will bo homo towards the middle of Juno, or at least tho majority of us. Somo of tho Gisborno boys will bo staying for tho soventh. Mr Arthur probably will go home to England for u trip.”
