CONTRADICTORY STATEMENTS.
(Special to Times.) ■Auckland, last night. All sorts of rumors have been afloat during the past few days regarding the state of the Premier’s health. According to a special wire from Wellington, one of the newspapers gave currency to a report that Mr Scadou had been strongly advised by his medical attendant to abstain from hard work, as tho continued fatigue was telling upon even his iron constitution, Another version was that the Premier was in robust health, and fit for the task of a Hercules. I learn that, while there is no need for any anxiety, his health is to some extent run do”'p by working early and late. The arrangements for the rpccptipn of their Royal ‘ Highnesses, the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, have teen a severe tax upon his strength, and the strain fias icon increased by the' preparation for the approaching session of Parliament, and now, like the last straw, the pressure hag beep increased by the difficulties in the way of the great review' at Addington Park,
