ABLEST AND BROADEST-MINDED PREMIER IN AUSTRALASIA.”
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)' Dunedin, last night. Mr J. F. Arnold, M.H.R., addressed tho electors to-night, giving a two hours’ speech, mainly in support of the Government. He spoke on tho same li res as tho senior member about measures which ho had opposed. Ho road a telegram from the Premier, stating that ho had no desire to remove the management .of the education endowments from school commissioners. What they were considering was whether the power of sale should bo left with the commissioners. Ho (Mr Arnold) denied tho charges of intemperance in Parliament which some had alleged. Tho Premier, he said, was tho ablest and broadest-minded Premier in Australasia, and Mr Ward was a strong man, but tho other members of the Ministry were regrettably weak, and there should bo a reconstruction to include abler men. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously.
