Businoss in the local betting market on tho Great Northern Stoeploehaso and Grand National Hurdle Bace has been fairly brisk during tho week. The combinations of Nor’-West and Cavaliero, Plain Bill and Sundial, Moifaa and Sundial, and Nor’-West and Begalia 11. have each been strongly supported. Nor’west has boon backed straight-out for tho Great Northern Steeplechase at 100 to 33. Cavaliero is quoted at 2 to 1 for the Hurdle race.

Cannongate is much fancied for the Steeplechase, and is supported in somo quarters for the Grand National Hurdle race.
