TIMARU HARBOR BOARD.

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Auckland, last night.

The Harbor Board to-day resolved by five to four to colleot as harbor rate .£6795. Some country members strongly opposed the increase from -CuOOO. The solicitor was instructed to prepare a Bill for providing a sinking fund for loans, and for securing to lenders repayment of the principal moneys not now provided for by Loan Acts.

The Resident Engineer, Mr A. M. Dobson, resigns on the ground of illhealth.
