WOOL SALES.
Messrs Common, Shelton and Co. (Ltd), report:—At our auction sale yesterday we submitted our catalogue of wool, hides, skins and tallow to the usual attendance of buyers from Auckland and our local, bidders. Napier buyers were conspicuous by their absence. Bidding throughout was not as keen as usual, as was to be expected from the unfortunate position of the wool market in London. In accordance with the drop of values in London our reserves were lowered to meet the position, and with the exception of two lots with which we were tied by owners, we cleared our catalogue at and above the reserves we placed on the lots consigned to us for sale. In no case was a lot sold under the valuation put by us on same before sale. The lots, as usual at this time of year, contained oddments of wool and generally poor skins. The prices realised by us were as under : Fleece, 3d to . 3fd per lb; fleece and dead, 3d; crutchings, ljd to 2d ; locks, lid ; skins, 1M to 3d; station hides, 2Jd to 2Jd; Uwlow, 17s W per wt, ; ' •
