GREATER GISBORNE

CONEERENCE OF ROAD BOARD&

At the meeting of the Whataupoko Road Board yesterday, Mr Lysnar moved further in the matter of the union of the borough and over-river suburbs in regard to water and drainage. He moved that the two Boards confer on the subject.

After discussion the motion was unanimously adopted, with an addition suggested by the Chairman that the information obtained should be placed before the annual meeting of the ratepayers, to be held soon after Mr Mestayer’s report had been made.

The motion was adopted in the following form :—“ That this Board meet the Kaiti Road Board to discuss the advisabi-

lity of tho thickly-populated portions of Kaiti and Whataupoko districts being brought into the Borough of Gisborne, with a view of the water and drainage scheme now being considered by the Borough being extended to the portions of Kaiti and Whataupoko that are in need of it, and place all information and facts available before the annual meeting of Whataupoko ratepayers, to be held before approaching the Borough Council iu the matter.”
