Dairy Produce.
THE INSPECTOR’S REPORT. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, May 30. Mr Cameron, inspector of New Zealand dairy produco at Home, writing to the Agricultural Department on April .26th, says that the most noticeable feature of the butter market since his last report had been the sudden firming up of prices for the choicest New Zealand brands, caused by a shortage of supplies and tho prospect of a cessation ef shipments from Australia up to tho end of the month. Large quantities of butter from Russia, mostly stored, had arrived, and buyers were giving considerable attention to it, as the price ruling for it was much lower, about 94s per : cwt. for the best quality. New Zealand butter continued to come forward in good order, and was still giving satisfaction to those buying it. Mr Cameron emphatically contradicted the statement made by Mr Kowin, of London, when in Wellington, that there had not been any appreciable improvement in the quality of this season’s dairy produce.
