PLEA FOR BLACK LABOUR, By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne,' May 30. Tho debate on tho Addrcss-in-Reply is being continued in tho House. Mr Paterson, of Queensland, said that ho was anxious for tho gradual abolition of colored labor, but it would be unBritish to annihilate it instantly. Ho hoped that no action would bo takon until a Royal Commission had enquired into tho subject. In the Senate, Mr Dawson, of Queensland, said that the presenco of kanakas in Queensland was not a pressing trouble. He did not want to ruin the sugar industry by sweeping away tho mainstay without timely warning. Thoy should first stop the influx of aliens, and then oust those already in tho States.
