I TOLD YOU SO.
Over the wild world to and fro, It makes no difference where you go, You’ll meet the man who “ told you so,” In latitudes both high and low ; In tropic heat of Arctic snow, Gisborne, Makaraka, or -Jericho, After the fight, after each blow; No matter whether he did or no, Y'ou’ll hear him say, “ I told you so! ”
After a cyclone, storm, or a drought After a street-row or a knock-out, No matter how the elections go ; After a race, a game", or a row, "With nudge and wink and whisper low, No matter whether he did or no, You’ll hear him say, “ I told you so ! ” And though he’s everywhere you go, And though there’s nothing he does not know, From Adam’s fall to Gabriel’s blow, I often think a thing or so About the things he does not know. How after he’s had the lumbago, How after kind death has laid him low, How after he’s gone to realms below, I’ve wondered, as he prays for snow, Whether he takes his time or no To .stop and say, " I told you so 1 ”\
