Kawhia Lands.
By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. At the balloting for the right of selection of various Crown land sections in Kawhia district there were 1292 applications, as many as 161 having been received for a single section. Nearly- half of tho successful applicants are from southern parts of tho colony. A total area of 3561 acres was disposed of, chiefly on lease, with tho right of purchase, carrying improvement conditions. and requiring personal residence on the kind within one year.
