AMATEUR POLICEMEN.

Wellington, last night. A peculiar ease was heard in the Magistrate’s Court to-day, when two young men named _ George- Kelly and Edward Creasey were charged with indecently assaulting and robbing a woman named Clara Aplin. According to the evidence, accused went to the woman’s house on pretence of being policemen in quest of stolen goods, and required her to take off every strip of clothing in order to be searched. On leaving they took a ring and 6s as carriage fare, but subsequently both were returned. Accused were committed for trial.
