One .of the Government’s amendments granted a husband a separation from a wife who proved to bo an habitual drunkard.
The census shows the population of Italy to be 32,449,754. In December, 1897, the population of Italy was 31,479,217. Shippers at New York suspect that the sea ambition of the Emperor William is behind the recent acquisition of the Ham-burg-American Shipping Company.
