(By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, last night. F. M. Cook, accommodation - house keeper at Cabbage Bay, pleaded guilty to four charges of soiling beer without a license. He was fined £5 and costs on eacli charge. Nottingham, master of the Alcestes, was fined £8 and costs for leaving the' vessel on arrival before it was granted pratique. He pulled within hailing distance of the wharf to send a message to his agent. The Magistrate said tho offence consisted of leaving the ship at all till she was cLjired by the Health Officer-. Wellington, last night. I The following are further passes in the pharmacy examination :—E. B. Davis, Auckland; E. C. Bonnell, New Plymouth ; E. H. Leigh, Hastings; W. J. Feltham, Wellington. y The Premier has been advised that Mr I Ward leaves Melbourne to-day on his return to New Zealand. Dunedin, last night. The following sentences were passed by Justice Williams this morning:—Augustus Isidore Bocks trow, 23, breaking and entering and arson at Invercargill, three years; Jas. Windsor, 27, theft from a dwelling, six months.
