Victoria College.
[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wellington, last night. At a mooting of the Victoria College Council to-night the Committeo reported that it had considered the matter of the establishment of a Chair of Education, and recommended that the qualification of candidates should be that each applicant be a graduate of the University, acquainted with tho theory and methods of education, and must have made science and tho practice of education his special study; that the elected candidate be read-?; to commence duties next year, at a salary of £7OO. Consideration of the report, and also a suggestion to appoint a professor of modern languages, were postponed until next meeting.
The Pharmacy Examinations
(Py Telegraph—Press Association.) Woffington, last night. Tho following candidates have passed the pharmacy examination held a few weeks ago:— Auckland: A. E. Pascoc, A. Y. Eontley, F. C. Dean, E. Healey. Woffington ; D. A. Fulton, W. P. Henderson, E. P. Pcrrott, W. J. Mason, D. Sloan, C. Palliser, A. Hobson, C. S. Keedwell (section A), L. A. Plm, W. Bettany, J. H. Keedie, A. Moe. Dunedin : D. V. Smith.
Christchurch : E. PI. Dawe (section A), W. H. Teape, A. E. Baxter. . t Owing to a misunderstanding the pharmacy roport-was not rocoived in time for to-day’s meeting of the Boai'd. The cases of seven other candidates depend upon the contents of this report.
