SUDDEN DEATH. [By Telegraph—Press Association.] Nelson, last night. Mrs Joseph Sewell died suddonly at Marchison, Central Buller, to-day. No particulars are to hand yet. THE COMET. Tho Education Commissioners, after taking evidence yesterday, visited tho Nelson College and. tho public school today. Some members also visited the Stoke Orphanage, finding everything satisfactory. Mr Hogbcn said there was a great improvement, and he expressed himself well pleased with tho new management. COAL. •Coal has beon struck at Brightwater, thirteen miles from Nelson, after boring about a hundred feet through tho sandstone. The thickness of the coal has not yet been ascertained.
