[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Greymouth, last night. On the Ist of 'May, the Premier will have been eight years Premier of _ New Zealand. He occupies the senior position in respect to length of office of any Premier in tho British dependencies. Of eleven Premiers who attended the Queen’s Jubilee in 1897, Messrs Laurier and Seddon are the only two who remained continuously in office, and Mr Seddon had the honor of being the only Member of the House of Representatives lyho had held his seat continuously sinco the general election in 1879. It also falls to tho lot of the Premier to have thus practically represented oho people for 21 years during 24 sessions of Parliament. He started as a member of Westland local bodies in'lßoß.'
