PLAINTIFF GETS £IOO DAMAGES. Press Association —Copyright, Dunedin, last night. The breach of promise case, Magdalen Beid, of Milton, v. David lteddie, jun., of Balclutha, laborer, claim £250 for breach of promise, was undefended in the Supreme Court. Judgo Williams expressed sur prise that a claim of £250 should be made against a man who was only in receipt of seven shillings a day, and had no property. He expressed regret that the case could not have been dealt with at the Magistrate’s Court, and gave judgment for £IOO with costs.
