SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

(To the Editor of the Times.) . Sin. —In answer to Mr Sheridan's letter, which appeared in your paper of Tuesday, it seems to me to be casting a reflection on those householders and parents who made it their business to attend tho meeting of the previous evening and record their votes according to their own ideas in the best interests of tho school. Now, Sir, it was to my mind and others that I know a protest against the action of the late committee passing the vote of censure against the headmaster “ in connection with the money that was stolen from tho school when"the gentleman had done all that lie reasonably could be expected to do to make the loss good'at his own expense." ( Mr Bull's hands being practically tied, it also points in no uncertain voice, not- - withstanding the nice things that were said at the meetiug.that there was a want of unity between the committee and the teaching staff inimical to the best interests of teachers and scholars, and let us hope that the incoming committee will profit by the experience of their predecessors ; to recognise that'unity is strength, and on the next occasion of meeting that the whole of the outgoing committee will be returned to office.—l am, etc., Yoter. (To thcEditov of the Times.) . Sn:.—l was much astonished, on opening mv morning Times, to read Mr Sheridan s letter. Ido not know Mr Bull, nor did I consult anyone, but I went to the meeting With the deliberate resolve to vote against some of the old members qis a matter of policy.—l am, etc,. Indignant.
