The Rev. George Bond, who is leaving Trinity Wesleyan Church, Wanganui, for South Wellington, has been presented by the Wanganui citizens with a purse of sovereigns and an illuminated address. During his five years residence in Wanganui the rev. gentleman has taken a prominent part in educational and public matters generally. He was especially in the fore in the demonstrations connected with the war and the despatch of South African contingents. Mr Bond was christened by Mr Seddon “ The Fighting Parson,” and the sobriquet has adhered to him ever since.
