NEARLY DROWNED.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Napier, last night. A man named John Bowling accidentally walked over tho cattlo wharf at the Spit this evening and was nearly drowned, but fortunately a bystander witnessed the occurrence and rescued him. The Convent Pupils who were examine d in Practical Music and passed so successfully under Mr Charles Edwards, Trinity College, London, received their marks yesterday. The following is the list: — Junior Division (pianoforte), Miss Rose - Liddell, 81 (honours) Preparatory Division (pianoforte), Miss Mabel Clarke, 97 (honors) Preparatory Division (pianoforte), Miss Janie Hale, 94 (honours) Preparatory Division (pianoforte), Miss Nellie Murphy, 91 (honours) Preparatory Division (pianoforte), Miss May Fitz Gerald, 89 (honours) Preparatory Division (pianoforte), Miss Nellie Martin, 88 (honours) Preparatory Division (pianoforte), Miss Linda Nicholson, 87 (honours) Preparatory Division (violin), Miss Lullie Power, 70 (pass)
