FREE PASSES.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Dunedin, last night. The Education Board has passed a resolution that a strong appeal bo made to Ministers to grant free passes to all children attending the secondary department of the district high schools. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE.

Mr Carew, S.M., said that accused’s mind was probably affected by his epileptic condition. It would be cruel to sentence Him to a long term, but he had no power to call upon him to find sureties.
