PACIFIC CABLE.

At the instance of the Pacific Cable Board, Mr Chamberlain suggests a conference between the Governments concerned to consider the effects of the New South Wales agreement with the Eastern Extension Company upon that of tho Pacific Cable. Mr Clarke is still urging the desirability of concurrence in Victoria in immediately signing a similar agreement, ’ Raving any arrangement sanctioned by the conference to be applicable to New South Wales and Victoria.
