London, April 15. - The Earl of Strathcona has subscribed over a thousand guineas to the Mansion House fund for a nationel memorial to Queen Victoria. Mr Hudson Beare, a South Australian, has been appointed to Chair of Engineering at Edinburgh Lniversity. ... „ The dockers are on strike at Genoa, and several steamers have been detained. The German Crown Prince _ was feted on the occasion of his visit to Vienna. The Mad Mullah, with eight thousand men, is threatening Bardo, in the inteiior of Biitish East Ac.'ica. In this position, the British have three comnanies of mounted, infantry, a camel corps, and a Maxim. The force is provisioned, and strongly entrenched. Queen Alexandra has returned f our Copenhagen. She was met by King 1 Edward at Victoria station.
