By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Melbourne, April 16. The Federal Cabinet- hold a lengthy sitting yesterday. It is understood that it is intended to appoint an Imperial officer of high stands ing as Commander-in-Chief as soon as Parliament votes his salary. Mr Barton hopes the Federal tariff will be dealt with during the first session. Ministers as soon as possible will visit Bombala, Yass, and Orange to inspect the sites recommended by the New South Wales Commissioner for the Federal capital. Sir Phillip Fysh has joined the Federal Cabinet, vice Mr Lewis, Premier of Tasmania.
