death of a veteran. i # # 1 [By Telegraph—Pres3 Association.] Auckland, last night. James Forrest, an old Crimean veteran, is dead. Deceased was a native of Edinburgh, and saw considerable service with the British army. In 1863 he came from Bendigo to Auckland, and took service with the Ist Waikato regiment, for which he received the 1866 medal, being the holder of medals for service in the Crimea, India and New Zealand. MILK SUPPLIERS’ ASSOCIATION. ' At a meeting of farmers and milk suppliers, held ftt the Auckland Agricultural " A .» form " ouppners’ Association. About 60 members were enrolled. An executive were requested to interview tho Auckland milk retailers, and discuss with them prices for tho coming season’s milk.
