He is alleged to have married Agnes "Wright while her husband, a resident of Clyde, Otago, was alive. Henry Jeffries, alias Prank Jeffrey, pleaded guilty to forging and uttering, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. The Agricultural Department sent to London by the Kumara to-day a small experimental shipment of ducklings and chickens from the Government farm at Momohaki. The Minister of Agriculture has agreed in accordance to the request of a deputation to proclaim Patea a grading port. Nelson, last night. Constable Brosnaban made a smart capture on Wednesday nigbt. He arrested two suspicious-looking individuals, who turned out to be the perpetrators of a robbeiy of jewellery at Bunnythorpe. The men were remanded to Palmerston, where a further remand will be asked for to enable inquiries to be made. The men are Joseph Kerr and Alexander Stapleton.

Dunedin, last night. Otamata Station, with 20,000 sheep, jointly occupied'by Messrs Ritchie and Teschomaker, was sold yesterday owing to the partnership expiring by effluxion of time. The property was purchased by Mr J. W. Ritchie for £13,500.

Mrs Heskett, Miss Lancaster, and E. Smith (assistant at Bonningfcon’s chemist’s shop) have left for Sydney to give evidence in the Conway case. It is stated that the evidence of Miss Lancaster will be sensational.
