A FORGER

TAKES THE GOOD NAME OP A GISBORNE RESIDENT. (Special to Times.) Wellington, last night. At the Polico Court to-day a respectably dressed young man named Robt. Walker was charged with forging a request for £3, in the name of W. Challis, of Gisborne ; also with forging a receipt for the sa,me. The case was called at nine o’clock this morning, evidence being givon byMessrs Challis, Bridges, Mrs Thompson, and others. After the luncheon adjournment the accused pleaded guilty, and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
