ROWING.

riOWING IN NAPIER

{ By Telegraph. —Press Association. Napier, last night. The annual rowing contest between the Napier and Union clubs’ junior four-oars was rowed in the Inner Harbor this afternoon. The Union got an advantage at the start, the Napier being slow to catch Che water. A ding-dong go all the way took place, but the starting positions remained unaltered, the Union crew winning by about half a length. As it was, the race was a good one, but had both got i away on terms it would probably have been even closer. The Union junior and lOst crews leave to-morrow, but owing to the delay in steamer arrangements the Napier men nre not likely to get away.
