A DISAGREEMENT.

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) Wellington, last night. The proposal of the Ilutt Borough Council to erect a bridge across the Hutt River, at a cost of £15,000, and claim contributions from the other local bodies in the district, is being resisted by the latter so far as contributing is concerned. A meeting of delegates from these bodies today decided to enter a legal protest against the claims made upon them. BENEVOLENT TRUSTEES.

The balance-sheet of the Wellington Benevolent Trustees shows that during the last year the cash paid for 77,069 rations was .£1833. For the previous twelve months 116,969 rations were provided at a cost of .£2430. The saving effected in rents for the year was £693. The cost of maintaining each inmate at the Ohiro Home was 4s B:]d per week.
