RIFLE ASSOCIATION

[By Telegraph—Press Association.] Wanganui, last night. After the belt was finished this morning the day was devoted to events for mounted men. The Lloyd-Lindsay competition was won by the Hastings Mounted Rifles with 210 points, the Alexandra men second with 186. The next competition was leading and firing. This, too, was won by the Hastings men with 191, Wairoa’s two teams making a tie with 183, and getting second and third places. This finished the meeting, as the gun rescue competition had to be abandoned owing to the absence of blank ammunition. The prizes were presented to-night, and now the Government take over the further meetings.
