BILLIE BARLOW.
THE JURY GO TO THE THEATRE
By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright Sydney, March 28. The burlesque actress Billie Barlow, suing as Mrs Minnie Stuart Menzies, has commenced an action against the Bulletin, claiming LSOOO damages for alleged libellous comment upon her stage dress while' appearing in a pantonjime aj the Tivoli Theatre, said to be contained in a paragraph published on January 12th. The jury visited the theatre last night, when the plaintiff appeared in the dress forming the subject of the action. [The paragraph referred to the “ riskiness ” of Billie Barlow’s first costume ; it was said not to he the simple nude, but rather to suggest that “ Miss Bill ” had taken off her flesh and was wandering about clothed in her naked soul. The jury has been set rather a strange task.]
