LABOR DISPUTES

A CONFERENCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, last night. A conference was hold this evening between delegates from the Canterbury Employers’ Association and the Tiades and Labor Council. The object was to discuss a proposal -from the employers that a joint copifnittee be set up to consider trade disputes, so as to avoid reference to the Arbitration Court. It was decided that the delegates bring before both organisations a- proposal to set up a joint Board, consisting of a certain number of delegates from each body to, discuss questions affecting them, with the object of bringing about friendly relations between employers and employed.
