The Department of Agriculture has received the following from the AgentGeneral, dated London, 23rd : Butter, 100 s, market dull; heavy supplies of butter arc on hand. Cheese, 48s, market lifeless; recent shipments of cheese are of better quality than previous ones. New Zealand hemp, good fair Wellington, 424 10s, fair current Manila 434; hemp market is very firm. In spot deliveries', cocksfoot, 171 b standard, is at 325, buyers are not keen to do business in cocksfoot, and for quick sale lower prices would have to be accepted, Canterbury muttqn, average, 4kl; Dunedin and Wellington, 4d; Australian, o” 7-8 d; Wellington, old ; Australian, 4Jd; beef, hinds 3jd, fores 3]d. The total sales in mutton received since January Ist amount to 208,845|barcases, as against 1,140,646 carcases lalt year in the same period, the market dropping. The total lambs were 425,747, as against 336,312, the market being steady. The beef market is uot favorable.'
