WRECK OF A YACHT.

Dunedin, last night. A private wire has reached here stating that the yacht Ariadne, which was travelling round the world, is ashore on.the beach south of the Waitaki river, and that the passengers anch crew are safe. [The Ariadne is a very fine typo of steam yacht, upon which an English gentleman and some friends are travelling the world. She was in Sydney during the Commonwealth celebrations, and atj tracted much attention.] Christchurch, last night. The Ariadne is ashore at the mouth of the Waitaki, the police have been informed that the vessel was wrecked at 8 o’clock ast night. The yacht is of 880 tons, and is own< cl by Mr F. C. Kerry, of England, and commanded by Captain Mumford. At the time of going ashore she was bound from Sydney to Dunedin.
