Our Wairoa correspondent writes : The necessity for a fire brigade here was again brought forcibly to people’s minds by the occurrence of another fire in our township. About 1 a.m. on Monday morning, a four-roomed cottage, occupied by Mr Pearse, was discovered to be on fire, the occupants having barely time to save themselves 'and a little bedding. There is an insurance of £IOO on the furniture and £IOO on the building. I understand that some fresh and rather startling developments are likely to arise out of the late sheep stealing cage.
