Mr J. F. Pettie, of Waipiro Bay, is q] present in town fqr a few dayq. Mr Liucplm Rees, who had been up the Coasj; appearing as counsel in court cases, returned tq tqwn last night. Mr W. A. Barton, 8.M., roaches Tolago Bay, on Saturday, on his return from his journey up the Coast on official business. By the Zealandia, last night, another Gisbornite left for South Africa, a Mr Maynard, leaving for the Cape, via Sydney. Mr Holdsworth, of the Union Company’s staff, went South yesterday. He goes to Dunedin to receive instructions from'the head office as to his future staMr Mestayer left for \Ve!!i n gb>H, l night. In reply to a Times representative, he said that this was his first visit to Gisborne, of which ho had formed a very high opinion. He does not think that he will be able to have his report on the water supply scheme ready within a month.
