A meeting of flic Acclimatisation Society is to ho field next Saturday afternoon. At Mr Doako’s farm, Leeston, three cows have given birth to twin calves, all being alive and strong. Messrs Holloway, Gwynne, and Quick, three members of the staff, have taken over the Waikato Argus from Mr G. Edgeeumbe, who is about to enter upon another line of business. Mr A. Peacock, who has been on the staff, of the Argus for a period of 20 years, arrived in Gisboma last night to take a position on the Times.
