BAND CONTEST.

Wanganui, last night. The Band Contest was continued this morning. There were seven competitors in the E Flat basses, which was won by T. Gay, Wanganui, with 82 points; F. Signal, Wanganni, 76; S. Geary, Petonc, 70, The B Flat basses, three competitors, resulted: C. Aldridge, Masterton, 64 points ; E. Holden, Palmerston, 61; S. Geary, Pctone, 55. In the afternoon the baud contest was continued, the results being:—Trombones : T. Gray, Wanganui, 79; H. Lamb, Wanganui, 74; G. W. Hutchison, Masterton, 69; F. Odling, Petone, 68; F. Beddel, Jupp’s, 66; J. Henry, Woodville, 54. The test piece, “ I Puritani,” was played in the evening.
