THE TROOPSHIP. [BV TELEORAriI—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, last night. The steamer Graft Taranta, 3300 tons, has been chartered to take the Seventh Contingent to South Africa, and it is expected she will arrive on the 27th inst. ' A NEGLECTED WAIF. At the inquest on the body of the infant who died from insufficient attention while being boarded out under the Infantile Life Protection Act, the jury added a rider to the verdict that in its opinion Government should provide an institution for the support of such infants, and compel the fathers to pay a contribution to their maintenance.
