PRESS ASSOCIATION.

** ANNUAL MEETING.

(By Telegraph—Press Association). Napier, last night,

The annual meeting of shareholders of the Press Association was hold to-day, Mr G. Fenwick,'of Dunedin, presiding. There was a large attendance. Messrs Fenwick and E. W. Knowles, of Napier, were reelected directors. Mr J. Blundell was elected director in place of Mr L. Blundell.

Great complaints were made at tho meeting as to the delays in the transmission of messages, both in the daytime and at night. The directors intimated that these had become so serious that they intended to ask the Postmaster-General to do his best to have the matters remedied. From the discussion there appeared to be a general belief that the department has not enough operators nor sufficient wires to keep pace with the extension of business.

Mr J. L. Wilson, of Aucklsnd, was elected Chairman of Directors.
