THE SAL ABIES QUESTION.

[BY TELEGRAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunedin, last night.

At a special meeting of the Education Board it was decided to urge the Government to arrange a conference at an early date to consider the most equitable method of distributing the amount voted by Parliament for the supplementing salaries of teachers, and to request Government to invito to this conference representatives from the various Education Boards of the colony. It was also resolved to ask other Education Boards to favorably consider the proposal. Members seemed to think that the Inspector-General is making an attempt to eentralise in ’Wellington the powers now vested in the Education Boards. g
