BENNETT DOOMED TO DEATH.
By Telegraph—Press Assoeiaiion—Copyright „ London, March 3. Herbert John Bennett has been sentenced to death for tho murder of his wife at Yarmouth in September last. The case was a sensational one, the body being found on the beach with a bootlace tightly tied round the neck! Ihe evidence at tho trial was circumstantial, much depending on the identification of the victim’s watch and chain. Bennett set up a defence of an alibi, which was discredited.
