San Francisco, Feb, 25. The total number of people drowned in the wreck of the steamer Rio de Janeiro at the Golden Gate was 35 white and 37 Asiatic passengers, 18 white officers and men, and 14 Asiatics belonging to the crew.

Of eighteen women aboard only three were saved.
