Training Notes.

[By Sru.uGiiT Tip.]

The Miikavakrt race-course presented quite an animated appearance this morning; so much so, one could almost fancy that lie was on the Ellorslio track, Auckland. Visitors from Opotiki, Wairoa, and our country districts wore in attendance. About thirty horses wore pry through their various exercises. The first to set the. ball rolling was P. Malone's Craftsman and a good looking Crackshot colt, trained by Alt'. Williams. This pair did a fairly fast go once round, finishing together. The former is a most wonderfully improved horse since the last meeting. Next camo the popular and energetic trainer, Harry Moore, with our local cracks Lady llaven and En Hakkoro and two or three hacks that will most likely be nominated for the smaller events on Saturday next. Lady Haven with En Hakkoro did a good sound gallop twice round, Raven going very free and looking very pink. Thistle* did moderate work, and Miss Shot went once round very fast. The rest of Moore’s charges did veryslow work. ’ Our old friend, Mr Harry Litmell, who

- is looking as bright and happy as ever, after his long absence from the Bay 7, next put in an appearance with quite a string \of horses from the Wairoa district. Amongst them, I noticed Pistol Grip, a big game looking horse, who did a fair twiec-round gallop. If this horse was not » so musical, one would not have to go far to pick the winner of both hurdles. Moonrakcr, who is not the raker we remember some years ago, did useful work, as also did the speedy mare Honors and the rest of the Wairoa chasers. The Napier gelding, The Weaver, did once round, but appears a bit sore and jnded after his trip through overland from 'Napier. Wilson did a solid twiec-round go, and was picked up by Eed Rose (a full sister to the locally-owned Pourore) and a colt named Victorious, Wilson having all the best of it.

Mr Kennedy’s marc, Blue Moon, under the care of an Auckland trainer (Ward),

moved freely and fast, and is looking in perfect condition. Fletcher did slow work with Geologist and another hack.

Quite a number of horses are yet expected to arrivo per next Saturday’s boat.
